Childrens Martial Arts Program
In our opinion children should not begin martial arts training until around the age of six. At this age a child can begin to understand the techniques being instructed and can be made aware of the dangers and consequences of utilizing the techniques. One should remain in a children's program through the age of thirteen and be phased into an adult oriented program carefully. A Jr. Martial Arts Program, should begin with a journey with a non-complicated style of martial art such as the White Dragon Fist System (Bai Lung Chuan Fa) or an easily understood for of karate. A great beginner system for children should cover the fundamental techniques necessary for the development of basic skills that the student can carry on into the more intricate Adult Training program when they reach the age of fourteen. Programs offered should have requirements for each stage of training that the student must complete to reach their next level. These requirements serve as tangible goals for the students to mark their progress in their training. Classes are usually set in a fun, upbeat, yet disciplined environment that helps keep the children interested in the classes while aiding in the benefits of good health, self-respect, leadership and self discipline that the martial arts are known for.
